Active damping of the oscillations of elastic media
Abstract
The paper develops a Green operator method for the active damping of oscillations in a region filled with an elastic medium, based on an antenna model consisting of elastic point dipoles discontinuously distributed on a surface. It can be shown that the active damping scheme is stable with respect to low level noise in the operation of receivers and sources, and that the scheme can be applied to the case of a cylindrical waveguide.
