Forces in electrodynamic levitation systems with continuous sheet track of finite width
Abstract
A description is presented of iterative numerical computations of the lift, drag, and transverse forces, taking into account the finite width of the sheet track. The magnetic field and eddy current distribution in the sheet track is considered. The application of the derived computational approaches is illustrated with the aid of numerical examples. Attention is given to system parameters, computations with model data, and the lift and drag forces of a test vehicle magnet and guideway.
