Approximate mathematical models of neutron slow-down
Abstract
A unified approach is developed to the derivation and substantiation of mathematical models describing the slowing down of neutrons by collisions with atomic nuclei in multielement media. The results are used as a basis to compare and evaluate existing methods for calculating neutron fields and to determine the range of applicability of the individual methods.
