Calculation of the force on a non-neutral and unsymmetrically supported plane charge electret in the electret slot transducer using the energy principle
Abstract
The force calculation on a neutral electret symmetrically placed in an electret slot transducer is generalized to the case of non-neutral and unsymmetrical in relation to the plane charge electrets on the plates of a tandem capacitor. An expression is derived for the force on the electrets in x-direction as a function of capacitor voltages V1 and V2, the voltage V3 between the lower of the two capacitor plates, the geometric properties of the setup, the surface charge density, and the dielectric constant of the electret.
