Design of an attitude stabilization system for the small meteorological satellite POMS
Abstract
An attitude stabilization system is proposed for a meteorological satellite program, POMS (Polar Orbiting Meteorological Satellite). Its mission is to measure the radiative exchange between earth and space. The system should allow a simultaneous instrument pointing at sun and earth. Existing methods and sensors which permit reliable operation and low-cost realization were selected.
