Digital dynamic simulation program especially designed for heat exchange processes, HEDDY
Abstract
A digital simulation program named HEDDY (heat exchanger digital dynamic simulator) is introduced. The HEDDY has been developed as a powerful means for the analysis of the dynamic behavior of large systems with heat exchangers as the main components, for example, steam generating plants, nuclear power plants, water chiller plants, etc., and also for the design of automatic control systems. It is aimed at reducing trouble to be taken for programming (coding and debugging) and the time required for calculation, and has the following features: the users can compose any process simulator with its control system easily, and it is capable of speeding up numerical calculation by treating a set of fundamental equations by transforming them into serial combination with a time lag of first order by the techniques called quasilinearization and differential operator.
