Marching long surface waves through two-port basins. 1: Continuous circuit case
Abstract
The numerical solution of free (unforced) two-dimensional long surface waves in rotating two-port lossy basins of arbitrary shape and size was uniformly carried out by the integration along the basin axis of integro-Riccati equations governing the basin's transport functions, namely the fluid-impedance and fluid-admittance functions. In this way inherently two-dimensional linear fluid motion is analyzed by an initial value method applied to the transport functions of wave amplitude and volume flux.
