Preliminary results of the X-ray radiation researching by the telescope Filin on board the Salyut-4 space station
Abstract
The instrumentation of the Filin X-ray telescope installed onboard the Salyut-4 space station for measuring X-ray emission of extraterrestrial sources in the 0.2 to 10 keV range is described. The instrumentation consists of four X-ray detectors, two star sensors, a solar sensor, a moon sensor, a measuring unit, a power supply unit, and a gas flow system. Preliminary results of some galactic X-ray source observations, namely the Sco X-1, Her X-1, Cir X-1, Cyg X-1, and A0620-00 (source detected by the Ariel-5 satellite on August 3, 1975), are reported and discussed.
