Performance tests on a selection of 100-element charge-coupled devices

A number of samples of a 100 element charge coupled device (CCD) were tested under conditions relevant to the potential use of CCD's for solid stage image-sensing, storage, and signal processing at video frequencies. Although the particular devices tested had no foreseeable practical application in these areas, the information gained should be useful to the manufacturers in clarifying how this technology will need to be developed in order to produce products of real value to the broadcaster in the future.
