A method for the protection of radar systems with linear FM signals against narrow band noise
Abstract
The paper examines a system for the reception of complex pulse radar linear-FM signals on a background of white noise and intense narrow band noise. A noise suppression system is connected to the input of the matched filter. A bandpass filter ensures selectivity in the adjacent channel and suppresses part of the narrow band noise, while a rejection filter at the output of the low frequency filter is used as the chief narrow band noise suppressor. Experiments were conducted to determine the efficiency of this noise suppression system, showing an 80 dB suppression of intense narrow band noise.
