Nonlinear theory of type-M fast-cyclotron-wave beam devices
Abstract
The nonlinear equations derived describe the interaction between an electron stream and a high-frequency field in the cyclotron resonance mode. The variation of the wave phase velocity in crossed electric and magnetic fields in taken into consideration. Guidelines for designing the phase characteristics of such devices are proposed.
