Optimal signal detection on a background of anisotropic nonwhite noise
Abstract
The paper considers the optimization of the spacetime detection of a useful signal on a background of stationary Gaussian noise in the form of anisotropic nonwhite noise for which frequency and angular coordinates are in a functional relation. Noise of this sort can be generated by an array of nonuniformly distributed moving radiators. It is assumed that reception is effected by a linearaperture antenna and that the useful signal has a determinate spacetime structure but random amplitude and initial phase, distributed according to the Rayleigh and uniform laws, respectively.
