A possible approach to the solution of an inverse problem
Abstract
The possibility is considered of formulating an inverse problem for temperature sounding of a planetary atmosphere using data on the planetary IR radiation flux obtained by a robot-space-station satellite. Regularization of the solution is accomplished by requiring fulfillment of the radiation-balance condition at all heights without a priori restriction of the class of functions by which the solution is found. It is noted that the proposed algorithm requires only a conventional program for solving the equation of radiative transfer.
