Theory of the saturation magnetoresistance in cubic metals
Abstract
Expressions are derived for the high-field limit of the magnetoconductivity tensor of a cubic metal. In the special case of a magnetic field directed along a symmetry axis, a spherical Fermi surface, and scattering governed by the cubic symmetry of the crystal, the expression reduces to a result previously found by Wagner. The observed behavior of potassium is judged to reflect some mechanism not included in the present theory.
