Spectral characterization of multi-input dynamic systems
Abstract
A multi-input synthesis procedure formulated as an eigenvalue/eigenvector assignment problem is developed. The utility of the theory is demonstrated by designing stability augmentation systems for an aircraft and helicopter. The pivotal role the closed-loop modal matrix (matrix of eigenvectors) plays in characterizing varied attributes of the feedback system makes the formulation potentially applicable to many related multivariable synthesis problems.
