The numerical calculation of buoyancy driven flows
Abstract
Three general classes of buoyancy driven flows were investigated numerically. These include laminar boundary layers, laminar internal flows, and turbulent boundary layers. All three classes were calculated using the Patankar Spalding finite difference technique. In addition, a two dimensional upwind differencing technique was applied to the internal flow considered. Some experimental work was done with respect to the internal flow to verify the numerical results.
