Application of saturated absorption on methods of optical frequency calibration
Abstract
This book represents a study which discusses the nature of coherent light, and methods for the calibration of laser frequencies. Mathematical models, presented to describe light wave parameters, e.g., attenuation, absorption, transmission, and dispersion, are compared with empirical observations. Attention is given to He-Ne lasers in a methane medium. Electronic reproducibility and error signal are evaluated in terms of accuracy and stability. Limitations of the saturated absorption method are dealt with in detail.
