Experimental study of pressure losses in a wall attachment type bistable large-scale fluid element
Abstract
The pressure and velocity distributions in twenty transversal sections of a bistable fluidic switch 76 mm in length and having an aspect ratio of 2.64 were measured. The fluid was air and the Reynolds number was 54,000. The total head drop was 54% compared to the value at the inlet cross section. Approximately 30% of this drop occurs along a stretch of 0.5 throat widths behind the inlet nozzle.
