Analytical and numerical solutions of the mixed problem for generalized Prandtl equations
Abstract
The paper examines generalized Prandtl equations for the twodimensional flow of a viscous fluid; the equations are suitable both for core flows and for flows next to a solid surface. Groupinvariant solutions of the equation describing flows in a plane diffuser are considered, and it is shown that linearized flow in a plane pipe tends to a Poiseuille flow. A semianalytic method for the solution of regularized hyperbolic generalized Prandtl equations applied to evolutionary problems is presented. The flow in a plane pipe is treated numerically.
