Evaporation of drops in a turbulent gas jet
Abstract
A method is proposed for calculating the evaporation of a polydisperse drop system in a turbulent gas jet, based on the simplified solution of scattering problem for an evaporating mixture. Evaporation of water undergoing atomization in a turbulent air jet is studied experimentally. Approximate agreement between calculated and experimental results is obtained.
