Attitude reference platform for altitude rockets
Abstract
A description is presented of the attitude reference system LRP 606, which was developed by a firm in West Germany for applications related to the employment of altitude rockets. The main component of the system is an inertial platform which provides reference signals for the attitude control system 'Dachs' of a German aerospace company. The functions of the platform system are examined. Attention is given to the design of the entire system, questions of platform design, details concerning the electronics system of the platform, and aspects of system operation. The performance of the platform LRP 606 during two missions conducted with Skylark rockets and a Dachs platform is also discussed.
