Forced reactive oscillations in the discharge of a gas laser
Abstract
Reactive oscillations in the discharge of a He-Ne laser determine, as a rule, the lasing threshold at 0.63 microns, and influence the discharge stability. These oscillations exist in the self-oscillatory regime and are induced by noise. An expression is derived for the q of a laser-electric circuit system. The calculations are confirmed by experiments conducted on several gas lasers to examine the modulation properties of the discharge current, and of spontaneous and stimulated emission.
