Solar luxmeter and its calibration
Abstract
A solar luxmeter is used to measure the illuminations produced by the sun and by solar simulators. This paper considers the calibration of a solar luxmeter. The selection of attenuating and correcting filters is considered, taking account of differences in the spectral structure of the sources, as well as inaccuracies in the correction of the sensitivity of the detector and the selectivity of the transmission coefficients of the attenuating optical filters. Two methods for eliminating the systematic error of a luxmeter are examined: the use of a standard light intensity lamp, and by comparison with a standard luxmeter.
