Circumstellar acetylene in the infrared spectrum of IRC +10216.
Abstract
The detection of acetylene in the infrared spectrum of the thick, expanding envelope of dust and gas surrounding the object IRC + 10 deg 216 is reported. This appears to be the first positive detection of C2H2 outside the solar system.
