Numerical solution of multidimensional problems of gas dynamics
Abstract
The book deals with an effective numerical method of integrating systems of quasi-linear hyperbolic equations, and with the application of the method to the solution of a class of problems of gas dynamics, aerodynamics, and continuum mechanics. In addition to the requirements traditionally placed on finite-difference schemes, attention is given to such aspects of advanced numerical methods as the adaptability of algorithms to the characteristics of the calculated flows; the use of irregular moving grids; the identification of discontinuity surfaces; and means of satisfying boundary conditions of various type
