Principles of quantum mechanics /2nd enlarged edition/
Abstract
This book is a revised version of the author's original 1932 work, and differs from that edition mainly in that a separate chapter is devoted to nonrelativistic electron spin theory (Pauli theory) and a new chapter is added, devoted to the many-electron problem of quantum mechanics. Some new formulations of an epistemological nature, e.g., the concept of relativity to observational means and potential possibility, are added. The main mathematical theory and its physical interpretation are largely unchanged. Central topics discussed include physical interpretation of operators and their eigenvalues, the Schroedinger wave equation, perturbation theory, dispersion theory and the decay law, virial theorem, Pauli theory, the energy operator and its symmetry, the Dirac wave equation, Heisenberg matrices, and positron theory.
