Abstract
This second edition of the handbook on classical and applied celestial mechanics differs from the 1971 edition in that a new chapter dealing with the motion of celestial bodies about the center of mass is included, and treatments of unperturbed and perturbed motions of celestial bodies and of analytical and numerical methods are appreciably extended. The principal topics covered are: spherical and ephemeral astronomy; the twobody problem; methods of determining and correcting orbits; the threebody problem; the motion of artificial earth satellites; numerical methods for solving differential equations; optimal and boundary value problems of astrodynamics; and qualitative celestial mechanics.
