Behavior of the phase and dispersion spread of a signal in the region of the critical frequency of the ionospheric layer
Abstract
A strict expression is obtained for the second derivative of the phase with respect to frequency of a reflected monochromatic signal for a parabolic layer. The existence of a finite maximum dispersion spread of a quasimonochromatic signal and of a shift of the group delay maximum relative to the critical frequency is concluded.
