Pyroelectric sensor of turbulent oscillations
Abstract
The paper describes the operation of a flat-plate ceramic pyroelectric sensor for measuring the turbulent flow oscillations. The sensor is applied to water flow in a pipe and is used to measure temperature fluctuations induced by changes in flow rate. The efficiency of the sensor is conditioned by artificial heating which ensures a mean temperature of the flat plate greater than that of the fluid. The output signal is analyzed for the case of harmonic turbulent oscillations.
