Hydrogen line absorption measurements on four pulsars.
Abstract
H I absorption spectra have been obtained for four distant pulsars (>2 kpc) PSR0329+54, 0355+54, 1933+16 and 2319+60. The observation on PSR 0329+54 had higher resolution than previous measurements and demonstrated the presence of significant absorption in the Perseus Arm, placing the pulsar at a distance of about kpc. The mean electron density along the lines of sight to these pulsars is < cm-3.
