High resolution spectroscopy of the electronic excitation of NO trapped in rare gas matrices . The B'2∆ and G2Σ- <-- X2Π systems</SBT>
Abstract
A new analysis of the absorption bands of NO trapped in inert matrices at 5 K, based on high resolution spectrograms of 14NO and 15NO molecules in the wavelength region 1700-1350 Å is reported. The experimental deperturbation of the B' 2∆ state is confirmed and the multiplet structure of the B' 2∆ and G2Σ - ← X2Π transitions is discussed by taking account of inequivalent interactions is the substitutional site.
