Measurement of mutual coupling in a linear array of printed dipoles
Abstract
Self impedance of a flat printed dipole with the two elements on two opposite sides of a dielectric substrate has been measured experimentally. The element is fed with a parallel stripline and it is observed that incorporation of a quarter wave transformer at the input of the dipole modifies its self impedance. Measurements of mutual coupling between elements of a collinear array of printed dipoles are carried by designing 3-element and 5-element arrays. Variation of coupling with distance between the elements is measured and compared with the approximate theoretical variation.
