Tunable infrared generation by stimulated Raman scattering
Abstract
Infrared generation by stimulated Raman scattering using a ruby pumped dye laser as the fundamental wavelength gives a very powerful source with narrow linewidth. This i.r. radiation is continuously tunable from the visible up to 4.5 μm (8 μm could be expected with a more powerful ruby laser). The experimental set up is described and the performances are presented.
