Adaptive arrays with main beam constraints
Abstract
Methods of applying main beam constraints are considered, taking into account the time domain, the frequency domain, and the angle domain. Pilot signal techniques introduced by Widrow et al. (1967) are examined and preadaption spatial filters are discussed. Attention is also given to control loop spatial filters. Examples are used to demonstrate the effects of certain classes of main beam constraints on both uniformly weighted and nonuniformly weighted arrays.
