Design considerations for leakywave antennas
Abstract
General radiation and frequencyscanning characteristics of leakywave antennas of infinite length as well as finite length are described. Analytical expressions for gain, sidelobe level and efficiency of a finitelength leakywave antenna, for which the propagation constant does not vary along the length of the antenna, are derived. These expressions may be used to study the radiation characteristics without evaluating radiation patterns. Design data for leakywave antennas are reported.
