Coaxial-to-waveguide transition /End-launcher type/
Abstract
The paper develops a general formula for the design of a collinear end-launcher type transition from a coaxial line to a rectangular or circular waveguide terminated in an arbitrary load impedance. Practical design of the end launcher has been carried out on the basis of a theoretical analysis based on the stationary nature of the input impedance seen by a coaxial line directly feeding a waveguide. Although the current distribution in the loop has been assumed to be sinusoidal, the experimental results achieved from the design show voltage standing wave ratios close to unity as expected.
