Emerging technology for transient and broadband analysis and synthesis of antennas and scatterers
Abstract
The historical background of the study of transient and continuous wave electromagnetic phenomena is considered, the basic equations are presented, integral equations are examined, and approaches to the solution of the transient/broadband problem are explored. The numerical inverse Fourier transform of frequencydomain solutions is discussed and a description is presented of the analytic s plane approach, taking into account the lowfrequency method, the singularity expansion method, and the highfrequency method. Attention is also given to the eigenmodes of frequencydomain integral equations, finitedifference timedomain solutions, timedomain integral equations, approximate transmissionline models of thin antennas and scatterers, and closed form transient solutions for special geometries.
