Construction of an areocentric areoequatorial coordinate system from photographic material obtained by the interplanetary probes Mars4 and Mars5
Abstract
The method and results of construction of a set of reference points in an areocentric areoequatorial coordinate system from photographic material obtained in 1974 by the interplanetary probes Mars4 and Mars5 are presented. Two approaches to the use of coordinates of projection centers, obtained during the construction of the reference set, to define the orbit of the probe are examined. It is shown that a 6parameter solution with evaluation of the phase coordinates of the probe is less effective than an 8parameter solution which also provides the radius and gravitational constant of Mars.
