Temperature measurements with a harmonic oscillator as a transformer
Abstract
Oscillators are used as instrument transformers in telemeasurements related to oceanographic studies for about 15 years. A review is presented of the current status of development of the technical procedure involved. Equipment described by Hinkelmann and Ihme (1963) is considered. Certain disadvantages of this equipment related to a somewhat complex operational procedure were eliminated with the aid of an oscillator design reported by Petersohn (1969). Attention is also given to instrument improvements described by Hinkelmann et al. (1970) and instrumentation reported by Kroebel (1973).
