For manipulating the calculations of bipolar transistors when dimensioning linear analog circuits
Abstract
The characteristic curve of a transistor's baseemitter junction and its exact temperature dependence are determined. Using a simple twodiode model, an equivalent T circuit is derived which possesses only two ohmic resistances and a controlled current source having a complex transfer coefficient. The equivalent circuits are given for the complex input and output impedances which can be calculated, using the complex transfer coefficient. The cutoff frequency of the transconductance and its dependence on the generator impedance is calculated with the aid of the equivalent circuit. The use of the equivalent circuit in a network analysis program is demonstrated.
