Temperature compensated cuts with zero power flow in Tl3VS4 and Tl3TaSe4
Abstract
Crystallographic orientations have been identified in two SAW materials - Tl3VS4 and Tl3TaSe4 - which are temperature compensated and have zero power flow. These orientations appear in the (110) axis cylinder cut and possess rather low SAW velocities and fairly high coupling. The variation of the SAW velocity, the electromagnetic-to-acoustic coupling, and the lowest bulk velocity for the (110) cylinder cuts in the two materials are presented. The power flow angle in both materials is identically zero for the whole cut, the cut being a special case in that the equations describing the SAW propagation decouple
