Exact solutions of nonlinear field equations in the form of circularly polarized waves
Abstract
In a previous work (Terletskii, 1974), the author derived a set of exact solutions of the nonlinear electromagnetic field equations in the form of traveling and standing circularly polarized plane waves, using as initial equations the Maxwell equations for the E and B vectors and nonlinear material equations of an isotropic medium for the polarization vector with specific structure following from classical dispersion theory. In the present work, it is shown that these traveling and standing circularly polarized waves are likewise solutions for the material equations of an isotropic medium, deducible from general representations of the quantum theory of dispersion.
