Nonlinear interaction of two monochromatic sound beams in an absorbing medium
Abstract
A Fourier analysis applied to the interaction of two sound beams both in the plane attenuated inhomogeneous mode in an absorbing medium is used to study the nonlinear parametric emission resulting from the interaction. The paraxial approximation applied to the parametric emission allows one to solve the problem of low frequency emission induced by a nonlinearity in the near field as well as in the far field.
