A simple procedure for calculating the intermodulation products with highly nonlinear four-terminal networks
Abstract
When two or more sinusoidal waves are fed into a nonlinear device, intermodulation products will appear at the output. A simple procedure, suitable for use with a programmable desk computer, is derived for calculating the intermodulation product and signal levels for the case of memoryless strong nonlinearities. The procedure has been applied to the case of four carriers incident upon a hard limiter and the results obtained were found to agree well with those obtained by Shaft.
