8-13 Micron Spectrophotometry of NGC 1068
Abstract
Spectrophotometry that provides complete coverage of the 8-l3!L spectral region of the Seyfert galaxy NGC 1068 with resolution (AA/A) 0.02 and with signal-to-noise 30 is presented. For these data, there is a wide range of models that produce fits with acceptable x2 tests; several indicative cases will be discussed. All of the models require a "silicate" absorption feature, with optical depths ranging from 0.4 to 1.2, depending on the model chosen. The 12.8 line of Ne ii is seen in emission.
