Study and realization of a semiconductor memory module for experimental TV signal bandwidth reduction
Abstract
A system for processing television signals in digital form with a view to reducing the bandwidth required for transmission was designed. The proposed method reduces the quantity of information to be transmitted by using a field memory capable of storing a complete monochrome picture in digital form. The memory required and the structure proposed is discussed. The components available and the selection criteria adopted are then reviewed. The structure of the module is described and problems posed by the testing of the modules are examined.
