An investigation of transducer probes for ultrasonic diagnostics
Abstract
The sound fields of transducer probes for medical ultrasonic diagnosis were measured in liquids by means of an approximate point-forms forming spherical reflector. For recording the fields in water and in a mineral oil, which is suitable for simulating body tissue, an automatic recording system was used. Supplementary measurements with 1, 2 and 4 MHz transducer probes of the frequency spectra of the reflected sound waves were investigated. The divergence of the measured results with theoretical predictions are discussed.
