Multi-wavelength determination of single-mode optical waveguide parameters
Abstract
Single-mode optical waveguide parameters, the refractive index and thickness, can be determined from the measurements of the propagation constants at multiple wavelengths. The dispersion curve and the guide thickness obtained by a two-mode method are compared with those determined by a three-wavelength and a six-wavelength technique using both symmetric and unsymmetric optical waveguides as examples.
