COS-B observation of high-energy gamma radiation from the Vela region.
Abstract
Summary. Preliminary results from the ESA gamma-ray astronomy satellite COS-B are presented for the region of the Vela supernova remnant. From an analysis of about 20 % of the collected data an enhancement of the radiation above about 100 MeV is observed in a 30x30 bin containing PSR. The enhancement is still present for gamma-ray energies above about 1 GeV.
