Source structure via the occultation technique.
Abstract
Ultimate limitations on measurements of X-ray source structure are considered for the EXOSAT mission. A fundamental lower limit to flux measurements is derived from X-ray source counts available from the Uhuru satellite. Most sources observed have a sufficiently high surface brightness so that confusion will not prove a problem. Limits on the measuring methods of telescopes, modulation collimators, and occultation are mentioned.
